Logical casuality

A story contains a series of interconnected events which lead to a resolution. Things have to make sense to the audience, and see your perspective in the world of the film. Character development is a big part of logical casuality. Characters have to grow and develop for the narrative to make sense to the viewer. Also the theme of the narrative has to be consistant all the way through the story or the audience may get confused. The resolution is the end of narrative, were all the lose ends of the story is tied up.

Story of the lion and the man.

There was a man who was bannished from the city of Rome and forced to live elsewhere. He finds a cve to live in for a few days. A week later a lion appears with a thorn locked in his foot. The lion was in a lot of discomfort. The man was scared and didnt know what to do, run away or help the lion. Dispite all of his fears he helps the lion and the lion dose not kill him, but instead lives with the man for a few days. A week passes and Roman police see the man and arrest him for trespassing on to Roman grounds he is then sectioned into a lions den where the lion who helped is unleashed into the areana and confronts the man. What dose he do?

Option 1: The lion dosent eat the man, they are both released and they live happily ever after - It is not possible for a man and a lion to really live together because they can't communicate and therefore logical casuality can not be met.

Option 2: The Roaman goverment let the man go as he is so frightened. - This lacks character development.

Option 3: The lion kills the man - This would go against the theme of the narrative and break the realatioship of the lion and the man without building it back, it may end the story quite drastically.

To make a good narrative i will have to avoid lack of character motivation, random elements, and a lack of narrative development. This task has really helped me to understand the importance of logical casuality and the imapact it has on making the audience connect and understand your film.
